Entrepreneurial survivability during pandemic among micro-entrepreneurs

Abstract

Entrepreneurs' survival strategies in developing economies before and after the Covid-19 pandemic were studied in order to identify micro-enterprises' actual pre- and post-pandemic situations. This paper examines the strategies employed by micro-enterprises to become competitive, the steps taken to overcome barriers and challenges, and the proclivity of companies to capitalize on current opportunities. This paper proposes that David J. Teese's dynamic capabilities theory can be applied through actions such as strategic collaboration with external stakeholders, the adoption of new technologies, ongoing research, and strategic networking. In this sense, knowledge enrichment on micro-enterprise business challenges and the skills they employ during unexpected crises, whether during a pandemic or outside of a pandemic period, can be improved. Furthermore, researchers can benefit from the increased understanding of the significance of dynamic capabilities.
