Title: | Torrefaction of empty fruit bunches (EFB) materials in modified microwave scale reactor | Authors: | Ahmad M I Rasat M.S.M. Amin M.F.M. Elham P. Lateh H. Amin M.A.M. |
Keywords: | empty fruit bunches (EFB) | Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | American Institute of Physics Inc. | Conference: | AIP Conference Proceedings | Abstract: | Torrefaction was implemented for the thermochemical pre-treatment process to improve the EFB raw materials and further exploit energy purposes. The modified microwave was introduced as a heat source reactor using the irradiation wavelength, with the limited air atmosphere into the torrefaction system. As such parameter of heating rate has influenced the process yield. The parameter was capped at 100 to 700 W to form the microwave power input to the alumina crucible, holding the samples prepared. Thus, the 385 W of power selection was made with bound consideration of formation thermal shock at a constant nitrogen supply as inert gas during the heating process. |
