The study found that berkedim practices have been in a precarious state due to the current modernisation. Hence, this research seeks to understand the types of berkedim traditions practiced by the Perpatih community and explain elements of social conformity in the berkedim tradition. In this study, qualitative research is used. This method allows the researcher to conduct interviews with potential informants in Mukim Terachi. The researcher interviewed three practitioners of Perpatih custom, together with observational fieldwork. The findings of this research have identified two types of adat berkedim. In addition, elements of social conformity were identified, such as compliance, obedience, protection, association and communication, tolerance, and consensus |
