Keywords: | beating;Blending;nonwood | Issue Date: | 2023 | Publisher: | Elsevier | Journal: | Pulping and Papermaking of Nonwood Plant Fibers | Abstract: | Physically, paper looks very simple, but not many know that the reality behind the manufacture of paper is very intricate and lengthy. Manufacturers follow the processes step by step to achieve a list of criteria before paper products can be traded. Among the processes that are used by the pulp and paper millers are blending and beating processes. Both processes greatly help to upgrade or improve the properties of the fibers and subsequently the resulting paper in terms of physical, optical, and mechanical aspects. This chapter discusses blending and beating, their importance, and the latest approach adopted by pulp and paper of nonwood manufacturers. |
