Great progress has been made in the development of graphene-based nanocomposites as sensing materials for cholesterol detection using various sensing techniques such as electrochemical, fluorescence, colorimetric, surface plasmon resonance (SPR), surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), and field-effect transistor (FET) sensors. This chapter focuses on the unique properties of graphene that make it an ideal material for sensing applications and summarizes the recent advances in the synthesis and characterization of graphene-based nanocomposites for cholesterol sensing. The various sensing techniques used for cholesterol detection are compared and contrasted, highlighting their strengths and limitations. The potential of graphene-based nanocomposites for cholesterol sensing in various applications is discussed, including biomedical and environmental monitoring. The innovative use of graphene-based nanocomposite sensors and the focus on multi-biomarker detection described in this chapter indicate a significant breakthrough in the field of medical diagnosis and sensing.en_US
