Abstract:
This study was conducted to investigate the knowledge, attitudes, performance, and intentions of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) students in choosing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 is an illness that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome. This new type of illness has caused a huge pandemic worldwide, which was announced by the World Health Organization (WHO). Movement Control Order (MCO), an initiative by Malaysian government to curb the spread of COVID-19, was launched on 18th March 2020. The lockdown operation has affected a lot to public and private higher education institutions. Higher education institutions have implemented online learning, which is e-learning instead of face-to-face classes. This study was to determine the knowledge, attitude, and performance of the students towards the intention of choosing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The quantitative research method was used involving 361 students from two main faculties in UMK City Campus. A questionnaire in Google Forms was delivered to the students via WhatsApp. Data collected were analysed using Smart PLS version 3. As for the results, the students’ attitude and performance had a significant relationship towards the intention to choose online learning, rather than knowledge. This study can be used as a basis and reference in developing any new and integrated learning systems in dealing with unpredictable situations in the future.
