Abstract:
This paper aims to explore the current trend in Islamic entrepreneurship over 5 years (2016–2020) through knowledge positioning to identify gaps in methodology and provide suggestions for further study. A systematic literature review with thematic analysis was used on 88 articles from various databases. As a result, quantitative methods (44) have dominated this topic compared to qualitative (31), mixed methods (1), systematic literature review (1), and conceptual papers (11). Islamic entrepreneurship is still in its early stages and requires more in-depth research. By highlighting the positioning of Islamic entrepreneurship as well as gaps in the methodology in prior work, this study aims to bring together this fragmented body of knowledge. It also points out topics for future research that still need to be covered.
