ATCC 31479. In this study, Agrobacterium sp. ATCC 31749 was grown in the production medium supplemented with 10%, 20% and 40% concentrations of Rambutan Juice as the sugar source. The curdlan was extracted via sodium hydroxide and acetic acid precipitation followed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis. At 20% concentration of Rambutan Juice, the Agrobacterium sp. ATCC 31479 showed highest curdlan yield of 13.65 mg/mL. The optimization of curdlan production in bioreactor showed the highest curdlan yield was 6.2 mg/mL after 7 days. The results suggest rambutan could be employed as the alternative sugar source in microbial production of curdlan. |
